How we charge

How much does our financial planning service cost? We’re glad you asked. Below, you can see what we charge at each stage. It couldn’t be any clearer.

Keeping things simple

We like to be upfront with our clients, so right from the get-go, we’ll tell you what we charge and what you’ll receive in return. Our straightforward fee structure ensures you’re never left in the dark. We discuss all fees upfront, so there are no surprises.

Trust the research

A 2017 report by Royal London and the International Longevity Centre showed that, on average, people who work with a financial adviser boost their assets by up to £43,245.

What’s more, a study by Vanguard identified seven key areas where advisers can add value, estimating values for each area. The total sum was discovered to be around 3% per year.

Analysis, research and plan

We’ll gather information about your existing plans: where they are invested, levels of risk and costs. Then, we will put together a financial plan that contains a cashflow forecast and analysis of investment solutions. Our service will give you a clear and realistic picture of your finances and help you make informed decisions. You will also have more confidence and peace of mind about your financial future.

What it costs: We charge a fixed fee from £1,750.

An overview of what’s included:

  • Collecting information about your income, expenses, assets, liabilities, and aspirations
  • Preparing a financial summary that shows your current position and your potential outcomes
  • Reviewing your existing arrangements and assessing their suitability and performance
  • Projecting your future income, expenses, and wealth based on various scenarios and assumptions
  • Calculating your tax liabilities and identifying tax-saving opportunities
  • Recommending actions that you can take to improve your financial position and reach your objectives.

Implementation

We feel that simply taking a percentage of what you invest, as most advisory practices charge is unfair.  Instead we charge for each transaction that we implement for you, which better matches the value of the work we do.

What it costs: For each transaction we implement, we charge a flat fee of £850.

For example: If you opened an ISA with £20,000, we consolidated two pensions worth £500,000 and you placed £1 million to an investment bond, our fee is simply £850 x 4 = £3400.

An overview of what’s included:

  • Implementation of all required financial plans
  • Handling all the administration and paperwork on your behalf
  • Regular updates to keep you informed of progress.

Ongoing

Financial planning is an ongoing process. Therefore, we recommend our ongoing service to maximise the value you get from this and to keep your financial plans on track.

What it costs: £0 - £1 million: 0.85% per year of sums under advice.
More than £1 million: 0.45% per year of sums under advice.

For example: If your investments are valued at £250,000, the ongoing charge we’d receive would be £2,125.

An overview of what’s included:

  • Annual valuation report and commentary on changes
  • Annual review meeting with your financial planner
  • Monthly newsletter
  • Review and assessment of your financial circumstances and suitability of your arrangements
  • Re-evaluation of your cash flow projections to ensure the plan remains on track
  • Review and assessment of any tax considerations or relevant changes in legislation
  • Online access to investment valuations
  • Liaison with your other professional advisers as required
  • Access to your financial planner and/or support team any time between review meetings

Fees quoted exclude VAT. Under current legislation, our services are not subject to VAT, but should this change in the future, and where VAT becomes due, we will notify you before conducting any further work.

In our clients’ own words

Henry was honest in explaining our best options and he was extremely patient in waiting for the necessary documentation from players on our side. Other advisers we approached treated us like any other wealth management clients and offered only high-cost options without taking our needs into account.

Chris George

I had retired from corporate life and was looking for help with planning for retirement. Henry has a great breadth of expertise and a good sense of humour. He is also very well networked, which has been a big help when needing specialist advice.

Erik Schmidt

Henry was very knowledgable and professional. He understood our needs and we felt we were in good hands. We have now consolidated our various pension pots and have a strategy in place to maximise our pensions and savings for the future.

James Eades

Henry took a comprehensive look at my pension funds and how I might need to use them. He then advised on the best way to save and invest the money. He reviewed my pension funds and found the one best suited to merge various schemes and get the best outcome for retirement.
